Watch out, 4/20. There’s another holiday coming to steal your thunder.
It seems as though every other day a new celebration pops up to honor one thing or another. We have days celebrating baked goods and icy treats. We also have holidays paying tribute to specific professions like teachers and medical personnel.
But July 10th is a very special day -- one that’s particularly near and dear to our hearts.
Maybe you’ve heard of it or maybe you haven’t. Maybe you already have it marked off on your calendars. But for those that don’t know, July 10th (which is right around the corner we might add) is Dab Day!
Dab Day is an (unofficial) international holiday that celebrates the use of cannabis oil, CBD, and other concentrates people use to dab. It’s a holiday that’s been celebrated since 2012, and it seems that every year the movement just gets stronger and stronger.
Cannabis and CBD-lovers alike can celebrate this holiday together and truly immerse themselves into the many health benefits these concentrates provide.
But why July 10th? It might seem like an arbitrary date, one plopped right into the heart of summer in order to maximize one’s ability to truly party. But the answer is much simpler.
When turned upside down, the date 7/10 looks like the word ‘oil.’ Therefore, it's only fitting that that be the day we all take the time to truly appreciate these oils and dabbing itself.
Many of those that celebrate Dab Day have celebrated its companion holiday, 4/20, for years. The more we’ll-known holiday is older than Dab Day, but 7/10 is quickly rising in popularity as the use of concentrates also rises in popularity and acceptance.
It’s rise in popularity can be attributed to a number of different factors, but we think the biggest is that the act of dabbing doesn’t have to be done strictly with THC. It can also be done with CBD, which as many of you know, comes with similar, relaxing, and helpful after effects.
All you need is the right tools and you’ll be well on your way to having a successful 7/10!
What is dabbing?
For those that might not be aware, dabs are super concentrated forms of cannabis or CBD that come in the form of a very sticky oil. Some would even call the solution a wax.
Dabbing itself is a form of smoking the heated dabs, and it’s one of the most effective ways to absorb all of the high-flying effects of the concentrate itself. And there are a variety of devices that can be used for dabbing -- from a larger, bong-like apparatus to that of a more portable, smaller vaping device.
