Often times we find that by adjusting your technique with the device, you are able to obtain much better results with Vapor Production! We recommend loading 0.1 g of material into the chamber (about the size of a rice grain!) and using the device on a higher setting. Heat the pen on a middle setting by holding down the button while simultaneously drawing air through the device. As the hit is reaching 10 seconds in length, let go of the button and immediately repress and hold the button while continuing to draw. Continue to hit the pen for about 10-20 seconds, and you should see a much greater outcome with vapor!
"We recommend taking a Q-tip dipped in Isopropyl alcohol (71-91% strength preferred!) and gently swabbing out any leftover residue or material from the inside of the quartz bucket. Do NOT submerge coil in ISO. If any material is particularly well-baked into the bucket, you can heat the coil for roughly five seconds to loosen it up and make it easier to clean."
The Crystal 2 has an auto-shutoff feature to prevent accidental firing of the device when inside a pocket, purse, or otherwise. This is an included safety feature. Also, when the device is removed from the charger it is in the on position and does not need to be turned on. If you device is also not reacting when placed on a charger, contact support at support@kandypens.com
Unfortunately the atomizer cannot be disassembled for cleaning material that gets underneath your bucket. This typically happens when you load more than the recommended amount of material in the device, or if you leave unused material in the device for long periods of time. We recommend using a new atomizer as this will affect the taste and use of your device.
This usually happens is material is loaded or "packed" forcefully into the chamber, from rapid heat cycling of your device, or forceful cleaning with a q-tip inside the bucket. We recommend only loading 0.1 g of material into the device, letting the device rest in between uses, and gently cleaning with a q-tip that has been perforated with ISO using gentle strokes.
There is an air flow slide installed on the Crystal 2 atomizer itself. The number of dots showing is how much air flow is free flowing. If you have more dots showing, the air will be less restricted. If you close the plate so fewer dots or only one is showing, the air flow will become more restricted to assist with greater vapor generation.
The filter can be removed easily by gripping the sides of the filter and twisting counter-clockwise. After which, it can be soaked in ISO for easy cleaning.
The Crystal 2 has an adjustable airflow atomizer that produces only true vapor. High levels of heat are required to vaporize the material in the chamber, and by restricting airflow the vapor that is produced and inhaled will be less diluted by incoming air. This airflow is adjustable, and if you find that your atomizer is getting too hot your your personal use we recommend using one of the two lower voltage settings, opening the airflow, and allowing a few minutes for the device to cool down between uses.
The Crystal 2 has several improvements on the Crystal 1's design. To start, the battery is larger on the Crystal 2 (1200mAh battery compared to the 900mAh battery). The Crystal 2 atomizer has major improvements to the method of airflow through the atomizer, sporting a much more restricted airflow that is adjustable for your preferred vapor and heat production. The mouthpiece has seen additional improvements, with a wider base for easier removal and installation. Lastly, the Crystal 2 comes with a warranty on all parts of the device: The battery, the atomizer and the mouthpiece.
Yes, all parts are backwards compatible with the Crystal. Additionally the Crystal 2 parts are covered by the warranty offered for the Crystal 2, even when used on an original Crystal.
